Chef Instructor Jesse Sanchez began his personal studies at the Culinary Arts Institute as did current lead Chef Louis Eguaras, the chef educators are dedicated to continue expanding the opportunities for C-CAP on the campus. Both chefs boast rich culinary careers that have given them the opportunity to cook in an array of settings and for a variety of people. Working for LAMC has enabled Chef Sanchez and Chef Eguaras to meet young cooks of all backgrounds and both appreciate the diverse students that come through their program. They anticipate greater opportunities in culinary arts education for the future and trust that both C-CAP and LA Mission College will continue to produce incredible contributors who will influence the foodservice industry all over the country and the world.
The state-of-the-art facility on the campus houses the renowned culinary art program for LAMC and in addition has teaching labs, classrooms, and campus dining facilities to maximize the educational programs. Demonstration kitchens adjacent to public areas provide a window into the world of culinary arts and weave the program into the daily lives of the campus community. The dining facilities make up approximately 34,000 square feet and include specialty kitchen labs, production kitchen, multi-station student kitchen suite, kitchen demonstration lecture hall, student and faculty dining halls, presentation dining room, extensive walk in coolers and freezers, and kitchen storage.
