George Ortega

I am a 38 year Sylmar resident. I have a BS Civil Engineering – AA Architecture.

31 years working with City of Burbank Public Works Department sewer permits – traffic engineering. With Burbank evaluated developments, building permits, conditional use permits, variances, vacations, and subdivisions for their impacts. My experience and education includes working with parks department and design of recreational facilities.

I have had training in CEQA requirements and community development planning – always improving skills to better serve the community. I am an advocate for improving existing recreational facilities and creating new ones.

I served on the SNC Board for all but three years of its existence. Formerly Open Space / RecreationRepresentative 7 years. Have been on Land-Use Committee for the last 9 years and served as Chair for 6 of those. I am a member of El Cariso Men’s Golf Club. I am for jobs, places to shop, dine and entertain in Sylmar. As well as for infrastructure improvements – roads, utilities, transportation, and services
