I moved to Sylmar in October, 2009. I enjoy living here, as it is a quiet neighborhood to live in, compared to the rest of The Valley. As an avid cyclist, there are a variety of places for me to ride, both on the street and in the local mountains.
The Sylmar Neighborhood Council is a natural extension of my Volunteer activities. Almost all of my adult life I’ve been a Volunteer. I’ve been a Scoutmaster, and a volunteer Ranger, hiking the trails of the San Gorgonio Wilderness. Presently, I ride in the Mountain Bike Unit, a volunteer group of mountain bikers that patrols the fire roads and trails of the Santa Monica Mountains.
My concerns with the Community of Sylmar, are for greater Safety and Economy. I would like to assist in bringing two more Fire Stations to Sylmar, as well as getting more of the City services that we deserve (re: Fire, Police, Street services). I am also interested in helping to design an area that could be a community center, with improved retail/entertainment so that Sylmar families can stay and play in Sylmar.
