I am a 7 year resident of Sylmar. I
have been with the SNC since 2004 and proudly served as the first
President of this board until 2008.
I graduated with honors from a
certification program in Zoology from UCLA and continued my work in
exotic animal conservation with the Wildlife Waystation. I currently
serve as an Ambassador for the Make a Wish foundation where my role
is to grant wishes for children with life threatening diseases; a
few of which are from our community.
I have been a City of LA Crisis
Response team member for 3 years which helps families by being a
liaison between them and the public safety services during the time
of a crisis due to death or any homeland security issue. As a
trained Ambassador for the Emergency Preparedness team developed by
the Mayor’s office, my job is to also make sure that our community
has a plan in place in case of catastrophic disaster. In 2005, I
graduated from the Valley Leadership Program. My background is in
Marketing and Financial Planning. |
|
| Goals: |
My goal is to promote community
involvement in all issues pertaining to a cleaner safer community.
My biggest goal at this time is to green our freeways, and with the
help of our elected officials, upgrade our community so that we get
the services that we are long overdue for. |

business consulting, and financial guidance for families and owner &
employee retirement plans. Nick says, "Occasionally, 'Hell No!' is a
successful community response, but more often a better result is
reached through discussion and compromise. |
|
| Goals: |
My goal on the council is to get to
protect and improve our quality of life, raise the level of skills
and opportunities for our kids, and promote a strong business
community. The more we all get and stay involved, the greater
improvement we will see in the responsiveness of our government
agencies to our needs. We have made great progress in the years I
have been on the Board, but there is always some new opportunity or
threat to our community and we must stand together in vigilance. We
generally want the same things, although we often disagree on the
best solutions. Still, I am excited about the progress we are
making. |

Agency, school leadership councils, the boards of several youth
athletic programs, and boards of organizations that promote
sustainable, prevailing-wage, career jobs that also support “green”
projects.

dedicated to this community as well.

am a homeowner, and my wife, Judith, and I have been residents since

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from
the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse and a Bachelor of Science
degree in Mathematics, graduating Cum Laude (3.5 GPA) from
California State University-Dominguez Hills. I have been a

I was born and raised in Los Angeles,
moving further east in my young adult years. In 2002, I came to
Sylmar to work and, met my wife Ana. From there my life changed,
since Ana gave me the confidence to do basically any thing I want to
do. I involved myself with the Sylmar Chamber of Commerce while
becoming a real estate agent.
Since living in Sylmar I started noticing the deteriorated condition
of local streets. Instead of laying back and complaining, however, I
decided to become involved with the Sylmar Neighborhood Council.
Before I became a board director I was involved with the Land Use,
Public Services, the Beautification and the Outreach Committee. |
| Goals: |
My goal is to make Sylmar a better
community. I want our main corridors to stand out. I want people
passing through our town and say, “What a nice community!” |

interested on the SNC. |

My goals are pretty straightforward:
to engage the youth in order to do some changes on Sylmar, second,
to help the youth on the education effort, and third, to help

My family moved to Sylmar in 1977
from Sun Valley. As a youth I played baseball at Sylmar and El Cariso
Park. I attended Sylmar Elementary, Olive Vista Jr. High and Sylmar
high. I enrolled in Ameritech College in 1992. And then received my
Diploma and received special recognition for Academic Achievement. I
also attended Mission College for Accounting in 2000.
Met my wife Cindy at Olive Vista Jr. High School. I have been a long
time Sylmarian and have seen a lot of changes in this community the
good and the bad. In all this time I have learned that if you don’t
get involved the bad doesn’t change without good people making the
difference. I have been active in this community for the last 10 years
trying to make Sylmar a better place for all of us.
|
| Goals: |
My goal is to unite us with Truth and
Personal Responsibly and to empower each stakeholder in making the
difference in our community for the improvement in quality of life for
the young and old alike. |
