Monday, March 16, 2026, through Friday, March 20, 2026

A significant heatwave will affect the region through this week, peaking on Tuesday (3/17)and Wednesday (3/18), and then continuing through Friday. MODERATE to HIGH heat impacts will occur each day this week." 

For the week of March 16, check back here for the times and locations of augmented cooling centers, once opened.

When it's HOT, find more than 100 LA City cooling locations (Recreation & Parks facilities & pools, plus City Public Library branches) that are available for rest and hydration during all regular hours of operation, along with other nearby options using the interactive Cool Spots LA link.

Staying Safe: Before Excessive Heat

    • Find places in your community where you can go to get cool. View the interactive map above to find the Cooling Center nearest to you.
    • Keep your home cool by covering windows with drapes/shades, adding insulation to keep the heat out, using attic fans, and installing window air conditioners and insulating around them.
    • Power outages may occur when there is extreme heat. Review safety tips for power outages.
