Please see the resources below in light of West Nile Virus cases detected in Maywood and Long Beach.

Here’s how to protect yourself:

Use insect repellent when outdoors.

Keep in mind that mosquitos are most active from dawn to dusk.

Wear long sleeves and pants when possible.

Check your yard regularly for standing water, and report mosquito breeding sites to glamosquito.org (LA County) or bit.ly/4xwOP52 (City of Long Beach).

Report dead birds to the California Department of Public Health at westnile.ca.gov or call 1-877-WNV-BIRD.
