Alfa is a 9-month-old spayed female weighing 36 lbs. Alfa is a super sweet girl who is very playful, knows her sit command, and enjoys playing with other dogs!

Alfa is available for adoption or fostering at our East Valley Animal Services Center.

In an effort to help the animals in LA City shelters find loving homes, The Paula Kent Meehan Pet Care Foundation is sponsoring the Big Dogs and Meow-Meows Adoption event from September 1-30, 2026 at all six LA Animal Services Centers. During the monthlong adoption event, adoption fees for dogs 40 lbs and over are $51 (does not include $20 dog license fee for LA City residents), and adoption fees for cats a year old and older are $12.50.

Furry friends adopted from LA Animal Services join their new families already spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adopters also receive a Petco flyer with discounts to help make their pet adoption a success, and a VCA Healthy Start Certificate, which provides up to $250 of follow up veterinary care within the first 14 days of adoption. In addition, dogs are eligible for free dog training classes with Paws for Life K9 Rescue at their People & Pet Innovation Center in Mission Hills, CA.
