Meet Matilda & Olivia ! - Pet(s) of the week for Adoption/Foster

Meet Matilda A2294924 and Olivia A2284477, two sweet girls who recently participated in Adventure Buddy Day!

Matilda is a 1.5-year-old spayed female weighing 92 lbs. Matilda is a lovely girl who takes treats gently, knows her sit command, has done well in playgroups with other dogs, and appears to be potty trained!

Olivia is a 3-year-old spayed female weighing 54 lbs. Olivia is a friendly, low-energy girl who knows her sit command, takes treats gently, walks nicely on a leash, has done well in playgroups with other dogs, and enjoys playing with squeaky toys!

Both dogs are available for adoption at our East Valley Center.

In an effort to help the animals in LA City shelters find loving homes, The Paula Kent Meehan Pet Care Foundation is sponsoring the Big Dogs and Meow-Meows Adoption event from September 1-30, 2026 at all six LA Animal Services Centers. During the monthlong adoption event, adoption fees for dogs 40 lbs and over are $51 (does not include $20 dog license fee for LA City residents), and adoption fees for cats a year old and older are $12.50.

Pets adopted from LA Animal Services join their new families already spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adopters also receive a Petco flyer with discounts to help make their pet adoption a success, and a VCA Healthy Start Certificate, which provides up to $250 of follow up veterinary care within the first 14 days of adoption. In addition, dogs are eligible for free dog training classes with Paws for Life K9 Rescue at their People & Pet Innovation Center in Mission Hills, CA.
