Proposed Increases to Sewer Rates

LA Sanitation is conducting public outreach efforts to inform communities across Los Angeles about the proposed Sewer Service Charge rate increase.

The City of Los Angeles is proposing a rate increase for its Sewer Service Charge (SSC). The funds bring needed updates to the city’s aging sewer system and go specifically toward the management, maintenance, and improvement of that system. Steady rate increases were paused in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Property owners will receive a notice in the mail in early July outlining the need for the proposed rate increase and how they can learn more about providing input at two webinars this summer. Wastewater treatment is among the most critical services LASAN provides to protect public health and the environment.
