Rite Aid is closing numerous stores, including those in Los Angeles, as part of a nationwide restructuring plan due to financial challenges and bankruptcy. The closures are happening as Rite Aid attempts to sell its pharmacy assets and restructure its operations.
The pharmacy chain said it is "working to facilitate a smooth transfer of customer prescriptions to other pharmacies."
The deadline to enter bids for the chain's pharmacy assets is set for May 13, and an auction will be held on May 14, if needed, according to the bankruptcy docket. The deadline to enter bids for the remaining assets, including the Thrifty Ice Cream business, is June 13, with an auction date set for June 20.
The Sylmar store is located at 13803 Foothill Blvd. Sylmar, CA 91342 (corner of Foothill Blvd. and Sayre St.) will be closing. Please note that this store is not currently on the released list of store closures; however, again, yes, this store will be closing. (At this time, we do not know the exact date)
Customers should contact the Sylmar store directly for information on how to transfer their prescription to an alternate pharmacy. Rite Aid #05552 (818) 362-2816
