From the City of Los Angeles Office of Wage Standards (OWS)

On July 1, 2025 the City's minimum wage rate (MWR) will increase to $17.87 per hour. Under the City’s Minimum Wage Ordinance, Employees working in the City are also entitled to 48 hours of paid sick leave every 12-month period: front-loaded (provided all at once) or accrued at the rate of 1 hour per every 30 hours worked.

In addition, the OWS would like to announce that the Citywide Hotel Worker Minimum Wage Rate (CHMWO)  will increase on July 1, 2025. Please refer to the CHMWO Wage Chart for the new rate (English)   (Spanish).

Please note that a referendum petition was filed against the ordinance passed by City Council on 5/23/2027 (Council File #14-1371-S13) which includes the new Housekeeping Training Ordinance, a health benefit requirement for certain hotel workers, and other amendments to the Citywide Hotel Worker Minimum Wage Ordinance. The Office of City Clerk is reviewing this petition.
