Election Committee

We reach out to the Community about the neighborhood council election. To ensure fair, transparent, accessible, and well-organized Neighborhood Council elections that encourage broad stakeholder participation and uphold the integrity of Sylmar's Neighborhood Council democratic process.

The Sylmar Neighborhood Council Election Committee is responsible for promoting the scheduled Council election every two (2) years and any special elections that may be required, and is responsible for integrating the required duties of the Board related to any such election into the instruction/assistance provided by any city ordinance, policy, or procedure. 

Neighborhood Council elections are being held in 2027 (see dates below). For information on registering as a candidate or voting in the election, please reach out to the committee Chairperson, Ann Job.

Sylmar is located in Region ONE (1) for elections.

Candidate Filing Period: December 17, 2026-February 15, 2027
Vote by Mail application period: March 2, 2027 – April 12, 2027
Sylmar Neighborhood Council Election Day: Saturday, May 1, 2027
