Those interested in volunteering are required to complete this application and attend an interview session. The nine-week training program for the Mayor’s Crisis Response Team provides volunteers with knowledge and hands on training to help CRT volunteers respond to critical incidents.

The Next Training Academy is scheduled to take place Tuesday, March 24 - Thursday, May 21. Classes are typically Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm. There will also be an all-day training exercise on Saturday, May 9.

CRT members are volunteers who respond to traumatic incidents at the request of the Los Angeles Police and Los Angeles Fire Departments. The CRT provides immediate on-scene crisis intervention and acts as a liaison between victims, survivors, and emergency personnel. Referrals are also given to victims and their families affected by death, violent crimes, or traumatic incidents. These incidents include homicide, suicide, serious traffic collisions, natural deaths, and multi-casualty incidents.

The academy for the Mayor’s Crisis Response Team provides volunteers with knowledge and hands-on training to help responders provide support, trauma intervention, and resources to survivors.
