Career Fair • Sylmar • May 17th & 18th

May 9, 2024 — A Career Fair will be held in Sylmar this Friday and Saturday, May 17th and 18^th, offering a variety of job opportunities at four newly opened Crisis Residential Treatment Programs. The Career Fair will be located at the center on the Olive View UCLA campus at 14139 Bucher Avenue in Sylmar. Live interviews and on-the-spot hiring will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days, however there are also Zoom interview options available.

Stars Behavioral Health Group is seeking to hire for a variety of positions which include:  LVNs/LPTs, Mental Health Security Guards, Recovery Counselors, Caregivers, Mental Health Workers, Clinical Supervisors, and more.  Stars Behavioral Health Group was founded in 1988, is employee-owned, and has been certified as a Great Place to Work ® for six years in a row.  

They are mainly hiring for positions in Sylmar but also at three other newly opened Crisis Residential Treatment Program locations in East Los Angeles, Compton, and Downey. These new 16-bed facilities, developed by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, are designed for adults dealing with mental health challenges or a recent crisis who need intensive treatment. Los Angeles County selected Stars Behavioral Health Group to operate nine facilities across four sites, for a total of 144 patient beds that will serve 2,500 clients per year.

The 24/7 programs are an alternative to urgent care or hospitalization. Individuals live on-site in a homelike setting for a short term while they receive counseling and learn basic living and interpersonal skills. They receive physical and psychological evaluation, mental health and case management services, in addition to assistance locating permanent housing. They are given supportive services to remain stable and successfully transition back to community living.
