Property development location - 13916 West Polk Street, Sylmar, CA 91342
On November 5th, 2025, the Sylmar Neighborhood Council held a SPECIAL meeting of the Full Council to address the proposed development. This meeting was held in person, with the ability for residents/Stakeholders to connect and participate virtually. There were over 100 people in attendance.  There were no public comments in favor. 
The Sylmar Neighborhood Council voted unanimously to oppose this development and will be advising all interested parties of that decision.

On November 6th, 2025, this item was in front of the Los Angeles City Planning Commission for development approval (with waivers). The Sylmar Neighborhood Council and several community members attended in person, and many attended via Zoom. All gave public comment in their opposition to the project.

The Commission voted in favor of this project moving forward.
The Commission openly regretted voting in favor of this development; however, due to CA State requirements, guidelines, and laws. 
Stating that, due to State requirements, the city's and the Commission's hands were basically tied. 

This project still needs to go in front of other LA City departments, such as Building & Safety, LAFD, etc. 

The Sylmar Neighborhood Council will continue to be involved in this process and will continue to communicate with our community.
