FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM PST WEDNESDAY

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Central Los Angeles County.

* WHEN...Until 500 AM PST. ***WARNINGS MAY BE EXTENDED***

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
  imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1107 PM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rainfall
    falling across eastern Ventura County and moving into west
    central Los Angeles County. Rainfall rates with this lines
    are ranging between 0.25 inch and 0.50 inch per hours with
    local rates up to around 0.75 inch per hour. Overflowing poor
    drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory
    area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Santa Monica, Woodland Hills, Northridge, Chatsworth, Sylmar,
    Reseda, Encino, Van Nuys, Burbank, Glendale, Downtown Los
    Angeles, North Hollywood, Pasadena, Alhambra, and the
    Palisades and Eaton Burn Scars.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
