ESFV LRT Phase 2- K-rail Installation and Street Realignment for Advanced Utility Work:

The East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit (ESFV LRT) Project is building a 6.7-mile street-level rail line that will connect Van Nuys, Panorama City, Arleta, and Pacoima with 11 new Stations on Van Nuys Bl from the Metro G Line Van Nuys Station to San Fernando Rd.

Metro's contractor began utility work along Van Nuys Bl between Gault St and Arminta St in April 2025. The advanced utility work is anticipated through mid-2027. The second phase of K-rail installation (concrete barriers on Van Nuys Bl) is scheduled to start on Friday, October 10 from 8pm through Monday, October 13, 2025, at 6am.

Traffic control will vary during the continuous weekend closure. The work will begin Friday at 8pm and continue through Monday at 6am.
One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction during the reconfiguration of the street on Van Nuys Bl between Valerio St and Arminta St.
Traffic delays are expected along Van Nuys Bl. Please use alternate streets and plan ahead.
Two lanes of traffic will remain open in each direction once the K-rail is installed.
Street parking will be removed along Van Nuys Bl, between Valerio St to Arminta St to accommodate the work area.
Bus service will continue with temporary bus stop relocations as needed.
